Benjamin The Nightmare Bear

The day Blackhaven Institution a house for orphaned children and infants burned to the ground mysteriously, the souls of those trapped inside became corrupted by an unknown evil. This corruption warping them into demons that now dwell in an alternate Blackhaven Institution. There they await those who are dragged into this alternate world by the unknown evil through sleep. Below is the profile and backstory for the demon "Benjamin The Nightmare Bear" from the Orphan Wing of the alternate Blackhaven Institution.

    An infant was left anonymously outside of Blackhaven Institution, found in a small basket, no note or message of any kind, gripping an old teddy bear with the name 'Benjamin' scribbled on it. Children are not uncommonly found outside of the institution as for whatever reason desperate parents abandon their children here knowing more than likely the institution will take them in. The infant was taken in and placed into the nursery wing of the institution. The infant was named Benjamin after the inscription found on the teddy bear left with him. Benjamin was able to keep the bear left with him as he was soon mixed into the general population of the institution. Benjamin was very attached to his teddy bear, he would throw a raging fit whenever nurses would try to separate him from the teddy bear. Even around Christmas time when a generous charity donated new stuffed bears to all of the children Benjamin refused and threw a temper tantrum when staff tried to tease him with the new bears. The nurses found it adorable to watch Benjamin huddled and hugging his teddy bear close in his sleep.

    On the day of the fire of Blackhaven, Benjamin was oblivious to the chaos around him, like many other infants he could not understand what was happening. Nurses poured into the rooms pulling out as many of the infants as possible. Surrounded by chaos and racket Benjamin sat there in his crib gripping his teddy bear tight. A nurse grabbed for him, trying to pull him out of the crib without his teddy bear. Benjamin flailed and howled at the nurse causing him to slip out of her grip. The flames and thick smoke were closing in quick, the nurse had to make a quick decision. To either leave Benjamin or the couple of the infants she had in a carriage in the hallway. The nurse ran into the hallway, leaving Benjamin in the room... Having fallen on the floor Benjamin was hurt and crying. Noticing his teddy bear still in the crib, Benjamin crawled to his crib grasping the gate. Benjamin shook on the gate of the crib, but the crib hardly budged. Crying and howling his energy drained as the smoke filled his little lungs and the heat was ever rising. In a last attempt Benjamin jumped and grabbed onto the gate of the crib. The crib lost balance and fell back onto Benjamin pinning him under. In his final moments Benjamin reached one of his tiny arm through the railing of the gate, touching the fur of his teddy bear as its black beady eyes stared directly into his face. Able to reach his other tiny arm through the gate he had one final embrace. Benjamin saw a flash of a familiar face of a man in the bear, a man with a face full of tears as he laid eyes on a memory of his father,that he would never know. A father who had left him, though the reason unknown, the pain and sorrow reflected in the expression of this memory made the reason seem apparent, though Benjamin would never understand. The vision faded with flames as the fire consumed them both...

    As all went black the corruption embraced their charred bodies, twisting and melding them into something awful... Somewhere in the nursery wing of the alternate Blackhaven institution charred bodies of teddy bears lay scattered about. Fidgeting as if they where alive, lifeless toys with expressions of suffering and despair. Among them is where what had become of Benjamin can be found. An eyeless beast walking among them, frothing from its bear like mouth hulking around as it awaits its next victim to be pulled into the institution. This demon resembles a large teddy bear covered in charred and gray sickly flesh. Encountering this beast one should be aware of its two dangerous weapons. One is is razor sharp claws combined with its brute strength, a physical encounter with this demon is no different from taking on with a fully grown bear as it can over-power you can shred flesh with its claws. It's second weapon comes from the dark holes in its chest, the demon will try given the opportunity to hug and grip to its victims tightly. The small holes discharge a jetstream of superheated smoke from within that can sear through flesh leaving terrible burns. It is said among the litter of teddy bears, there is one inscribed with the name 'Benjamin' that maybe the key to stopping this demon.
