Haven't done a random horror drawing/story in a while so I figured I'd be nice to go back to my roots and I now present to you 'The Pumpkin Patch Horror' its a little lengthy but surely worth the read as it sure to satisfy your holiday craving for fear...Be-wary potential readers as this story contains some extreme themes and may not be suited for all, but anyways for those enough brave enough to I hope you enjoy this piece as much as I do and have have a Happy Halloween!!!
Jason was an aspiring detective, always fascinated with unusual and unsolved cases he would look into them in his free time to see if he could figure them out. One case in particular fascinated him and he looked intently into it. This case took place in a nearby farm town called Bloomsbury supposedly on the night of October 31st 1993, where a murder lead to string a string of sudden and unexplained disappearances. This has dwindled the town's population and even created superstitious myths surrounding it. The case reads that a Mary Glasgow was raped by her supposed boyfriend and his friends in the large pumpkin patch on the border of town at night, and to keep her quiet they murdered her and buried her in the patch. The keeper of the patch farmer Hicston found her remains about a week after the event when he was harvesting pumpkins. Her body was completely skeletal and decomposed as if it had been there much longer. The boys were brought into questioning and had one court appearance until they suddenly went missing, it is believed they fled town but still there whereabouts are unknown. This lead to weekly mysterious and random disappearances of residents in the town, oddly enough of almost all of the males. Only a few residents still reside in the now run down town which is now made up of a majority of females, only a couple male farmers still reside there. Now the town which farm various crops now primary farms only pumpkins and has a large pumpkin patch which is truly a sight to see. It is not known what ties them there but the disappearances there have ceased since the upbringing of this pumpkin patch...
Jason began to think deeply about the entire case and tries to start piecing things together. He realizes since the disappearances have stopped in Bloomsbury, there have been mysterious occasional missing persons cases in all the nearby county’s and towns. Jason deeply investigated these missing cases and found a crucial detail from an unconfirmed I-witness report stating that a man saw a farming truck with the logo of Bloomsbury Pumpkin farms oddly many county's away at night stopped near a college campus. This man said he saw a young attractive farm girl lure a group of seemingly drunk men into the truck which then drove off into the night. This I-witness report wasn't taken seriously as the man who reported it was a known drug-addict and very delusional, he was arrested a few times for outbursts and disturbances near the campus. After compiling his thoughts and the evidence he found so far he figured he needed to visit the town of Bloomsbury to check things out for himself. Jason didn't have really any friends or plans for Halloween so he figured it would be a great thrill to visit during the day when the town is active with its small pumpkin festival. This festival is a sight to see as the towns people can be seen worshiping pumpkins, as if they were Gods...The nest day is Halloween and Jason gets into his car preparing the two hour drive to Bloomsbury.
After two monotonous hours of driving down country roads Jason finally reaches Bloomsbury. Driving slowly down the main road Jason notices abandoned houses and run down buildings littered with pumpkins displaying different carvings and some even set up to look like shrines. Jason parks in the middle of town where all the people are gathered for the festival and steps out of his car . Here families walk about admiring the craftsmanship and creations of the pumpkin carvers. Mostly everyone here seems to be tourist as Jason cannot seem to spot many locals. Jason finds a farmer set up at a pumpkin stand selling treats to a bunch of kids. As the kids depart Jason approaches the woman and asks her questions about the case. The woman's happy expression seems to grimly change and she is reluctant to answer most questions, instead then Jason asks her where he may find the great pumpkin patch. The woman sternly points to the east and tells him its about a 15 minute drive to the patch which is open to the public on Halloween. As Jason walks away the woman gives him a menacing look as she reaches towards an antenna poking out of his pocket. Jason gets into his car and drives to the patch where he finds people walking around in awe of the scale of the patch.
Jason enters the patch and slowly walks around, very observant he wonders where Mary Glasgow could have been murdered. Walking away from the crowds he strays towards the part of the patch closest to an old farm house. As he kicks around some dirt in disappointment of finding out anything substantial here,something catches his eye. Kicking deeper in the dirt he notices a dirty miscellaneous piece of fabric. Jason picks it up and upon close observation it seems like clothing fabric. Jason feels someone poke his shoulder as he quickly hides the fabric in his pocket. Turning around he sees a country girl standing before him. Bleach blond hair, a slim body, and a pretty face with deep blue eyes Jason is a little flustered due to his lack of consistent contact with females. The girl seems interested in him and ask him general questions like where is he from and what he thinks of the pumpkin festival. After some lengthy conversation she giddily invites him into the old farm claiming its her fathers as he is the keeper of this patch. Grabbing his hand together they walk to and enter the farm house. The house is pretty dark though it is the daytime and seemingly empty. The farm girl tells Jason to wait while she looks for her father, Jason notices an antenna sticking out of her pocket but thinks nothing of it. He is excited as this maybe a chance to get some valuable information. Interrupted from his thoughts Jason hears a slight creak to the side of him, as he turns around he is knocked unconscious with a blunt object.
Waking up slowly Jason finds himself bound up in a chair in a dimly lit room with windows that are covered and nailed shut. Besides him in the other side of the room he notices a long curtain. Around him are cluttered tables filled with junk but among the junk are various tool. Jason notices that some of these tools are various torture devices and he even makes some out to be devices used in animal castration. Jason becomes very worried, nervousely he attempts to scream for help but his cries are muffled. Jason hears two voices from behind the curtain as well as muffled screaming similar to his. A man dressed in a farmers outfit opens up the curtain and stares directly at Jason, beside him the farm girl with a menacing grin as she looks at another man who is bound up and seemingly inactive. The girl begins to barrage the man with words, calling him a horny piece of shit, manically complaining about how men are nothing more than filthy pigs. The bound guy starts to move around a little then emits a panicked muffled screamed as he looks down in distress. The male farmer spins the bound guy around and Jason is completely horrified by what he sees, the man is bleeding from his genitals which appear to have been removed. The male farmer looks at the distressed Jason saying “He didn't need em anyways, nothing good come from them...I do fine myself without em, my soul is cleansed...Boy do you need me to cleanse yours???” As he holds up a bloody castration tool. The farm girl cheers at the farmer to do it as Jason emits many muffled 'noes'. The farmer examines Jason a bit and says “Psssh no need to this boy looks like a virgin to me”, then the farmer proceeds to stomp Jason in the nuts which causes him to wail in pain. The farmer continues “I'm sure Mary wouldn't mind a virgin, I would consider letting this boy go but once he gets his first taste I'm sure he'll be as bad as the rest, plus its either these boys or our asses...”. He then removes the clothe covering Jason's mouth and he then screams “Wait Mary!?!?! How is that possible isn't Mary Glasgow dead!?!?!What the FUCK is going on”. The farmer and farm girl chuckle, the farm girl leans in and whisperers into Jason's ear “Ohhhh she is not dead...I'm sure you'll love to meet her, then you can ask her yourself”. The farm girl then stuffs a clothe filled with chloroform into Jason face and he passes out. The farmer drags Jason's unconscious body as well as the other man who was bound into the pumpkin patch in the dead of night and leaves them there.
Jason slowly starts to open his eyes, grabbing his head he feels an unbearable headache. A disturbing ambiance fills his ears, regaining his vision Jason covers his mouth and his expression turns to one of horror as he cannot believe what he is seeing. He is not in the mortal world anymore but trapped in a nightmare,around him are rotting pumpkins...Exhibiting movement,with corrupted human features they weep in agony and emit bone- chilling cries as they look tortured. Vines shoot from beneath Jason and restrict him from moving, noticing a large black pool of darkness appear in front of him Jason begins to cower. Jason is filled with an unbearable amount of dread as something horrible begins to rise out of the darkness. An entity so terrifying that Jason is at a loss of words, overwhelmed by its vile presence. Jason is only able to whisper “M..Ma...Ma...Mary” as the demon's eye pierces his soul. With a terrifying shriek the vines begins to enter any orifice on Jason's face, through his eyes,mouth, and even ears they completely shred up his insides and spray his blood all around. When all is done Jason's remains are pulled into the earth below...After feeling the pain of death all Jason can see is darkness, will he go to heaven or hell, what does the afterlife have in store for his soul...Wait a second???Jason's eyes begin to open?!?! He looks around and to his dismay he is still in the pumpkin patch. At ground level with the other pumpkins he feels a terrible feeling from within his core and starts to shrieks out, joining an unending choir of agony among the pumpkins of the patch, he is among those who suffer at Mary's will...Trapped in her world they become vessels of the inner evil and pain that afflicts her until the day Mary's wrath ceases and her will is somehow broken...But everyone loves the great pumpkin patch of Bloomsbury to dare rid of it...
