The Twin Yvestuvia

This demon is the fourth piece to be depicted from my Abstractium series of artwork.(The 'Y' in her name is silent)

The Twin Yvestuvia: In this cold world you find yourself alone and shivering in the darkness. You feel your way around as you grab something strange. Pressing into the object a beam of light shoots out illuminating an area of your surroundings revealing a floor and an odd intricately designed pillar. You begin to wonder what is going on but something breaks your chain of thought and the tiny hairs on the back of your neck stand up. From above in darkness you hear an unsettling set of whispering voices speaking in an undecipherable tongue. You hesitate to flash your light at the source as you are frightened, but your finger slips shooting a beam of light upwards revealing something shocking. A strange entity sits there suspend, making subtle strange body movements as it is whispering in that strange tongue. It eyes motion towards you and you switch your light off swiftly. The whispering stops and it is dark, it is hard to keep still as your while body is shivering horribly your breath is shaking. The whispering resumes, but this time it is uncomfortably close as you slowly turn your head to the right....

This demon is from a city located in one of Abstractium's gigantic floating structures known as “Umbras'reihl”. As you descend from a wide winding bridge into darkness,looking below you can spot the city of Umbras'reihl. Descending into the city you can see the silhouettes of many different kinds of buildings, as the vast ceiling above seems to disappear and become coated in fog. Passing through the gates it feels like a massive ghost-town desolate and mysterious. It is always quiet with an odd stillness in the air and an always present ominous feeling. In this city a bone-chilling cold penetrates your very soul and the lack of sounds besides random chilling echoes creates an unsettling ambiance and atmosphere as you wander in darkness. Light is scarce here but it can be found in mysterious lantern-like vessels that are found in various places,shooting a sharp beam of light they act as a flashlight,sometimes revealing things you have never wanted to see..... Lurking in the city of Umbras'reihl are the kin of an ancient god, pale demons with various parts of them shrouded in pitch darkness.  Those who are unfortunate to become trapped in Umbras'reihl wander this dark city aimlessly disoriented and scared as the appearance of one of its many demons is unpredictable. Paranoia plagues the soul as they do no know what horror will manifest or when something is stalking them until its revealed in light or just simply to late....

The Twin Yvestuvia is a part of a species of demon found through called Dethiligox who are characterized by a body fused into a floating vessel and have various unique appearances depending on where they are found. She is an 'Arch-Dethiligox' unlike regular dethiligox they are more intelligent and mystical,also unlike regular dethiligox they are infused into more elaborate vessels. The Twin Yvestuvia lurk in a large palace-like structure in Umbras'reihl. In this dark palace she is usually found suspended in one place as she murmurs to herself in the complicated Abstract tongue, a universe system of language and dialect found throughout Abstractium. Her bodies move subtly but strangely as she whispers to herself in a slight jerking/wiggly motion She is unusually more humanoid then most dethiligox and is one of the only ones known to be sharing a vessel with a twin. Etched into her elaborate vessel are many symbols,writings, and even small paintings of unknown structures. They are believed to be tied to either her character, situation, or her origins as a dethiligox. Like all other demons in Umbras'reihl she shares the common feature of having parts of her body completely shrouded in shadow. Around her eyes are shadowed as well as her arms which emit a dim silvery aura. If any shadowed part of her body touched mortal flesh like all other demons in Umbras'reihl it will inflict shadow onto the contacted body part.It is very unclear what happens to the contacted body part as it is not present anymore physically but appears in a shadow form, this sensation inflicts a foreign yet painful sensation to the brain. If one becomes fully shadowed it is believed they disperse into the darkness and are forever gone or they become absorbed by the demon as a sort of sustenance. Isolated she is rarely threatened by other demons and it is unknown on how she responds, but her status alone of being an 'Arch-Dethiligox' tells that she is very intelligent as well dangerous.
